The picture shown here is from my favourite scene in the film: Herbie is trying to play matchmaker between Jim and Carole Bennet (Michelle Lee), who works for Thorndyke. To that end, he locks his doors when she attempts to storm out of the car; she understandably concludes that Jim has locked her in and starts hammering on the window, yelling for help. Unfortunately, she only manages to attract the attention of a couple of hippies, who regard her shouts in a philosophical manner:
Oh, and F.Y.I.- the film is actually based on a 1961 story entitled Car, Boy, Girl written by one Gordon Buford who I can't find any other information about.
