The mood of these erstwhile rioters is euphoric, and you have to wonder why, since their protest was an incoherent shambles which ended with the police putting the run to them. They accomplished nothing except ensuring that no person of sense and morality will ever take them or their cause seriously. Nevertheless, they've convinced themselves that they've somehow won some sort of moral victory; I suppose engaging in self-deception is the only way they can stand themselves.
