My reading has been severely curtailed over the last couple of weeks for a number of reasons, one being that I'm crazy busy at my place of employment right now, working long hours. Also, when I am off, I'm trying to fit in working on Christmas gifts along with all the other extra activities which take place in the run up to Christmas. Right now I'm sewing up some pillowcases for the nephews & nieces; here are the first four: I had stopped reading on my lunch breaks for a while, due to the fact that I'd been having working lunches- answering emails and doing paperwork to try to catch up on everything. But I've now picked up my lunchtime reading once again and am back at it: And, since I always have at least two books on the go, I've also started- and am about halfway through- this mystery by Andrew Klavan: Waiting in the queue for when I finish one or the other is this autobiography which I'm really looking forward to starting: The first activity on my Christmas agenda occurs this week; I'm attending a concert by the Ennis Sisters. The Ennis Sisters are three siblings from Newfoundland who sing a lot of traditional/country music, and have really tight harmonies. I've been listening to them for years- I just adore their traditional album Red Is The Rose- but have never attended one of their live concerts before, so I'm really looking forward to this one. I'm going with two of my sisters (appropriately enough) and we're taking our parents. This is their version of Lord of the Dance, which is found on their Red Is The Rose album: And this is their version of The Holly and The Ivy, which my six sisters and I learned and performed together in three part harmony: So that's what I'm up to at the moment... I'll get back to you on the concert after I've attended. Also on the books when I get them finished.

About MeI'm a lover of good books, classic movies, and well-written shows (as well as some pretty cheesy ones, to be completely honest). Categories
