The visuals are great- it's obvious that a lot of moolah was splashed about on sets and CGI, but special effects do not a good movie- or show- make. For example, the special effects in The Wrath of Khan (1982) are comparatively rudimentary next to those in, say, The Rise of Skywalker (2019). But by any metrics, Wrath of Khan is above and away the better film, because it has great characters, a functional plot, and well-written dialogue. Rise of Skywalker has none of these things nor, I regret to inform you, does Rings of Power... so far, anyway.
Considering the forbidden romance between Arondir and Bronwyn... well, it's not really developed enough at this point for me to have an opinion, other than to say that he's really crap at keeping it hidden. It soon becomes obvious that everyone in the settlement knows about it and no wonder, the way Arondir goggles at Bronwyn whenever she's in the vicinity. Also, it might be best to avoid thinking about the fact that we're informed he's been stationed there for 79 years, and Bronwyn's probably about 30, so he would have been seeing her since she was a small child...
