I don't intend to get into all the ins and outs of these ridiculous aims right now; it's Saturday morning and I want to relax. So I'll merely point out that it's impossible for British authors to "colonize" Britain, the land of their ancestry and birth. Also, the idea that by including Morrison in the curriculum, they're fighting racism is laughable at best, considering her well-known antipathy toward Jews and Israel.
This isn't to discourage anyone from reading Toni Morrison's books if they want to; she's not my cup of tea, but obviously a lot of people enjoy her writings and more power to them. I'm not in the business of censoring other peoples' reading materials. I'd just appreciate it if I could be left in peace to enjoy my reading choices without the woke brigade coming along to helpfully explain that 'Akshully', Austen is problematic because her father- in the 1700's- once worked for someone who owned slaves. These are not serious people and their opinions- they have no logical arguments- should not be taken seriously.
