Here are a few more pictures from the weekend:
Okay, I've been away for a couple of days for Easter and have mostly been offline. Also, I had a really busy week leading up to Easter; work of course, and then my church had a series of services on Wednesday, Thursday, and (Good)Friday night which I attended. Also, I was going to my parents' place to spend Saturday night and attend the Easter Sunday service at the church which they and two of my sisters attend. My sisters had asked me to sing in a quartet with them (and one other lady), so we had a practice for that on Tuesday night at their church. Then I went to their Good Friday service which was in the morning so that we could practice again after it while the sound guy was still there. My church's Good Friday service was in the evening as mentioned previously, so I had my sisters and parents over for dinner and then they attended it with me. On Saturday morning I went shopping with the same two sisters and then we headed out to another sisters' place because she was hosting the family egg painting party and supper. Then it was off to the homestead for the night, Easter breakfast and church in the morning-our quartet went really well. After that it was off to the Valley for Easter dinner at another sister's place with all the Nova Scotia family: it was loud but all kinds of fun and, though it poured all morning, the afternoon was sunny so we were able to do the Easter egg hunt outdoors, thankfully. Then it was back home again... I got in the door at about 9 pm, tired, happy, and still feeling stuffed to the gills. Of course, all these occasions required quite a bit of cooking/baking. For the Good Friday dinner I hosted, I served ham and roast vegetables, and made hot cross buns: I had also made a bunch of cupcakes and cookies to take on Saturday for our egg painting party: Usually I bake a ham for Easter Sunday, but another family member had volunteered to bring it this year, so I got off pretty easily: I steamed broccoli and cauliflower, cooked bacon-wrapped water chestnuts in sweet & sour sauce, and made an orange trifle for dessert: All this is by way of explanation as to why I got very little reading done over this last week, which is why I'm a little behind on everything. I had a great time, though- hope you did too! Here are a few more pictures from the weekend: Sunday afternoon egg hunt:
