-John Muir
I'm grateful that it's now light enough in the evenings to get out for a walk after supper: "This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls." -John Muir I spent yesterday in the Valley, visiting my sister's family; while there I got word from one of my other sisters that something had come up and her daughter's (my niece's) third birthday party- which had been scheduled for next Saturday- was going to have to take place today after church instead. Well. By the time I got home from the Valley there was no time to go gift shopping, so it was off to the fabric stash. I found a piece of Paw Patrol fabric, but it really wasn't big enough to make anything except a cuff for a pillowcase, so I pulled out some yellow cotton for the body of the case and a small piece of red to make trim: voila, a pillowcase! Digging around in my stock of emergency gifts (when you have 28 nephews and nieces, it's a good idea to have one) I found a hair bow I sewed a while ago, so added that to the present along with a colouring book. I also threw in a box of Tic Tacs because she's a fiend for them: So that's how I'll be spending the day- hope you also have a blessed and happy one.
