In this episode, the King cousins snoop around the decaying mansion of Old Lady Lloyd, who lives Miss Havisham-like in her dust sheet, cobweb covered house, avoiding all Avonlea residents. A friend of Aunt Olivia's, Sylvia Gray, comes to visit Rose Cottage. She is a talented singer who is about to give up her dream of a musical career because of lack of funds. It turns out (gasp) that there is some connection between her and Old Lady Lloyd.
This is not one of the better episodes of Road To Avonlea, in my opinion. While the short story was pretty good as I recall (it's been a while) it doesn't work particularly well with the kids and the Olivia/Sylvia friendship shoehorned in, as well as the character of Peg Bowan. There's too much going on, and the attempts to make it all work together are awkward at best. Also, the giggly schoolgirl friendship between Olivia, a character I generally like, and Sylvia is a bit cringe inducing, as they're both adults and should be well beyond that stage.
