Two of my sisters and I drove up to visit family in New Brunswick over the long weekend, taking two nephews who we dropped off in Moncton at our brother's place so they could celebrate their cousin's birthday. After visiting there for a couple of hours, the three of us continued on to Fredericton, where another of our sisters and her family live. Driving into the sunset; the car windows were rather spattered with road salt. We stayed in Fredericton until late Monday morning; it was great to see them, because they hadn't made it down home over Christmas. While there, we got to go to one of my niece's sledge hockey practice, which she's recently started. My niece is completely obsessed with Zambonis, and it made her day when the Zamboni driver stopped by to chat with her. Here she is taking a fan video of the Zamboni making its rounds on the ice: That night we watched Puss In Boots, the 2011 film which I had never seen before. The kids had, but wanted to review it because they're going to be seeing the new Puss In Boots film The Last Wish shortly. I rather enjoyed it... more later. I sat on the floor while we were watching and this big boy- who tips the scale at about 115 lbs- decided that laying across my legs was the best viewing location. I could still walk afterwards, but had some pins and needles in my legs when I got up. He was just too darn cute to push off, though. We left around 10 o'clock Monday and pulled into Moncton again around noon to pick up the nephews. We stayed there for lunch then hit the road for Nova Scotia, stopping once- at Masstown, for our ritual purchase of ice cream in the market there. So that was my long weekend: hope yours was as fun.
