Here's a sample of Measha Brueggergosman's singing (though not what she was singing the other night):
On last Friday night I went down to the Valley to attend a Living Nativity performance in which my sister, brother-in-law, and various nephews and nieces were taking part. Here are some pictures I snapped of the event: Ooh... I found a fabric shop: A nephew and niece were in the Hebrew School scene... the nephew was the class cut up- no surprise there. The play took place at a variety of locations, inside and out of the church, ending in the sanctuary with the manger scene and an angel choir- my sister was in that- which led a carol sing as well as having some solos. My ears perked up when I heard one of the soloists because I thought I recognized the voice although I couldn't see her at first because there were a couple of tall people standing in front of me. Well, taller than I am, anyway, which doesn't take much. But I maneuvered my way around and, sure enough, it was Measha Brueggergosman, Canadian opera star and Maritime gal who also happens to be a Baptist. She was, obviously, amazing... actually, the entire production was really well done. They do a live Nativity every year, but this was the first time they incorporated a play into it and it really improved it, I think. And the carol sing was a lot of fun. Here's a sample of Measha Brueggergosman's singing (though not what she was singing the other night):
