Before the power went out last night however, I watched the series finale of The Expanse: Episode 6 of Season 6. This was a shorter season than the other five, each of which had ten episodes, and I'm not sure this was a good choice for the show, though I won't get into that right now. I've really only discussed the first two seasons of The Expanse here, so I think I'll do a few posts on seasons 3, 4, and 5 before getting into my thoughts about season 6. I will say though, that overall The Expanse has been a really solid and thought-provoking show and I'm glad I watched it.
Well, I'm not going to write a long post tonight because I'm too cold. Last night (Friday) we had a big nor'wester: it started out as rain, turned into ice pellets and a thunderstorm, then changed to snow- all driven by howling winds- and then the entire slushy mess froze into ice. Typical Nova Scotia winter storm. My power went out around midnight and still wasn't on twelve hours later when I left my apartment around noon today (Saturday). I got home this evening to find the power back on but the heat still off- apparently something's gone wrong with the system. It's being worked on, but in the meantime it's really cold in here because it's -17 degrees Celsius ( 1 degree Fahrenheit) out, with a windchill factor of -26 deg. C (-15 deg. F). So I'm currently huddled up on my couch in fleece pjs and a sweater, under a quilt with a hot water bottle, swilling coffee to drown my sorrows.
