On Saturday, I attended a Ladies' day out of town which included a visit to the onsite stable/ barnyard: Some of the goats and Bowser, the camp dog: Chickens and Cornish hens: At the stables: My favourite horse, Samson: Here's one of my sisters with him; shortly after this I curried him; he's a big sweetie: We also went on a hike, had a Bible study and craft time, and ended with a cookout/bonfire. "Autumn, the year’s last loveliest smile." -William Cullen Bryant Sunday after church, my family all packed up and headed for the Valley for Thanksgiving dinner; I brought green & red grapes, and some harvest loaf as well as apple and banana cream pie: “What greater blessing to give thanks for at a family gathering than the family and the gathering.” — Robert Brault Some of us spent the night in the Valley and on Monday went on our traditional Thanksgiving hike: After that, we stopped in Kentville to see some of the pumpkin people (it's a thing they do there every year, setting up people with pumpkin heads all over town). After this, we headed back to town. We had some of our nephews with us and had to drop them off at their place, so stopped and picked up pizza, then had dinner with them and their parents before heading off to our respective homes. So all in all, it was a full and fun weekend and now I'm in flannel pjs, collapsed on my couch. I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend (for Canadians) with family and friends.
